I have changed to a different web server! This means I had to backup the entire website, including the forum databases, and copy it all over to the new server. As always, there were a few glitches (what a headache, notice what time I am posting this? I must be crazy), but I finally got the forums back up and running. Not everything else at shanebweb is back on yet (specifically the pics and photo albums). I hope to setup a better photo gallery in the near future.
The good thing about the new server is that I should be able to add some new features to the site MUCH easier now.
Also, I am interested to hear what you think about the response of the new server. Do the forums seem faster/slower to display than before? Please report any problems you have when logging in or using the forum as usual!
Peace

wow! just contacted their sales team, and it appears to be true... though i think it has more to do with including a link back to eleven2 on each page than it has to do with liking shane and shane. at least thats the response i got back from the sales guy.
reviews of their hosting services aren't so positive, and i have been pretty happy with dreamhost for the last year or so. but we'll see.

edit: note to self, site5 looks good, and their $5/month deal looks unbelievable!

well, moving to a new server is a lot of trouble. especially when i have to re-setup all my MySQL databases, FTP and email accounts. dreamhost is nice enough, so as long as shanebweb doesn't go down on a regular basis, i am happy for now. the nicest thing about dreamhost is they let me host unlimited domains with a single account at no extra charge. most other hosts limit you to 1 or 2. i've currently got 5 or so, on a single account.
i asked eleven2 about hosting, and they would host shanebweb for free, but not my other domains |

A white silhouette would actually fit with that. Put it behind the gloss, which I discovered a technique to make it look more glossy, Scott. If you'd like to know.
Then again the silhouette may throw off the whole feel. _________________ http://www.pwickham.com |

Agreed.
Give it the green bg for the header though. If possible.
Thanks again. _________________ http://www.pwickham.com |
